How Your Vocal Reel Session Works

1. BACKING TRACKS

Before your session, please send your backing track cuts as audio files to
vocalreels@theaccompanist.co.uk

If you’d like to save time, I can source your tracks and/or create your cut MP3s for a small fee — just send over the YouTube or Spotify links and I’ll take care of the rest.

2. BACKDROPS

Please let me know which backdrop colour you’d like to use. The options are:

• Green

• Blue

• Purple

• Red Wine

• Pink

3. GETTING READY

There’s a dressing area with a mirror and privacy screen available. You’re very welcome to bring multiple outfits — there’s space to change comfortably.

Once you’re ready, I’ll take a short test shot so we can check framing, lighting, and that you’re happy with how everything looks.

4. SOUNDCHECK

You’ll be set up with in-ear monitors (not headphones), and we’ll do a quick soundcheck to make sure you can clearly hear both your track and your voice.

Once everything feels comfortable, we’ll do a recorded practice run before filming properly.

5. FILMING

When we start filming, I’ll guide you through how best to use the space — including eyeline, movement, and what works well on camera.

We’ll film a take, watch it back together, and repeat until you have a take you’re genuinely happy with. There’s no rushing — we work at your pace.

6. THE FINAL PRODUCT

Once all songs are filmed, we’ll put the reel together in order and watch it back.
What you see is exactly what you’ll receive — no surprises.

Your finished reel will be delivered the same day.
